Finally, it’s Shia LaBeouf who is being copied. After his whirlwind descent into whatever it is he’s trying to do, LaBeouf opened an “art exhibit” in Los Angeles Tuesday (Feb. 11), titled “#IAMSORRY.”  Luckily, Jerry O’Connell is there with a response.
O’Connell, one of the stars of the upcoming “Veronica Mars” movie, opened a pop-up art exhibit next door to LaBeouf’s. In his exhibit, LaBeouf wears a paper bag over his head reading “I am not famous anymore” and he doesn’t say a word. O’Connell’s is similar, except his bag says “super famous” and he has no problem talking to those who come in and apologizing for everything that is wrong with the world.
The rival exhibit, “#IAMSORRYTOO,” is for a Funny or Die video that will be released at some point. O’Connell tells Buzzfeed that it all came together when Gallery 1988 owner Jensen Karp emailed him early Wednesday morning.
“My wife is working, I’m on daddy duty, and it seemed like a fun thing to do today,” he says. “So I dropped the kids off and drove right over here. “
Unfortunately for those who missed it, O’Connell’s exhibit was a one day only affair. LaBeouf, on the other hand, will be sitting there with a bag on his head until Sunday (Feb. 16). Those in the Los Angeles area can visit him at 7354 Beverly Boulevard. Before giving him too much credit for originality though, keep in mind many are comparing his exhibit to a very similar one in 2010 by artist Marina Abramovic.
