Snooki-Insider-320.jpgLast week on “Jersey Shore,” Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi admitted that she had an eating disorder in high school. That gave us a whole new understanding of why she reacted to Mike’s fat joke the way she did.

Tonight, “The Insider” reveals a side of Snooki we haven’t seen yet. Her make up is toned down, her ‘tude is at a lower frequency and there’s no hair poof to speak of. On the MTV show, the former upstate New York cheerleader told her roommates that her anorexia got so bad she ate one cracker a day and got down to 80 pounds.

“I really wouldn’t eat,” Snooki tells “The Insider.”
“I would go into the nurse’s office every day and I would weigh myself.
When [the nurse] realized that I hit 80 pounds, she was like, this
isn’t good.”

Snooki says her eating disorder stemmed out of her fear of being
replaced on the cheerleading squad by thinner, younger freshmen. She has that nurse to thank for alerting her parents, who took action.

parents told me, you need to eat,” Snooki, 21, confesses to “Insider.”
“This is very dangerous. So I gained my weight back to like 98 where I
always was.”

“Jersey Shore” has definitely opened Snooki up to
some haters, but she seems to be taking it in stride. “Right now, I
don’t even care what people think of me,” says Snooki. “They’re going
to say negative stuff, so whatever. I’m happy with myself.”

more of Snooki’s confessions, including her childhood as an altar girl
and her parents’ reaction to her Snook-capades at “The Shore,” tune in
to “The Insider” tonight (Tuesday, Jan. 19).

How do you
feel about Snooki’s confession of having anorexia? Do you think the
haters will let up on her, at least when it comes to her weight?
