“That’s one that I wanted so badly,” she tells the magazine. “I was in the middle of shooting ‘Texas Chainsaw Massacre,’ and I auditioned with Ryan Gosling in my trailer–covered in blood. [Director] Nick Cassavetes put me through the wringer in an interesting, excitingly creative way. But there’s a million that get away. We’re gluttons for punishment. It’s just rejection.”
When discussing the role she most regrets missing out on over the years, Biel admits that it could’ve been her kissing Ryan Gosling in the rain in “The Notebook.”
There are SO MANY noteworthy things about this admission. First, picturing Allie as anyone other than Rachel McAdams seems kind of blasphemous. Second, if Biel had gotten the role, does that mean Gosling and McAdams never would’ve gotten together?! “Saturday Night Live’s” “Lazy Sunday”/”Chronicles of Narnia” rap would sound so different.
Moreover — does that mean Biel would’ve never dated Justin Timberlake? This is really important stuff, you guys. Our minds have just been seriously blown, so let us process it, okay?
For the record, she won’t confirm or deny that she and Timberlake are dating again, saying “A girl doesn’t kiss and tell.”
Something extra to think about: Biel’s wearing William Rast, also known as JT’s clothing line, in the photo shoot.
