As we count down to the 2014 Emmy Awards, Zap2it is taking a closer look at each of the lead acting nominees for comedy and drama — and judging them not by their best work, but by some of the more dubious credits on their IMDB pages. So we ask you: Based on what you’re about to see, would you give this person an Emmy?
Jim Parsons has won three Primetime Emmy Awards for his work as Sheldon Cooper on “The Big Bang Theory.”
This year he is nominated for a sixth time for the same role, as well as a Supporting Actor nod for his part in HBO’s “The Normal Heart.”
Before Parsons became the Emmy juggernaut that he is today he was an aspiring actor that needed to make a paycheck like everyone else. When you’re trying to pay the rent you’ll do any job that comes along … even if it involves getting intimate with animals?
Parsons’ first commercial was for Quiznos subs where he plays a man accused of being raised by wolves. Through flashback we see Parsons’ canine upbringing. However, there are two versions of the commercial — one for day time hours and one that was only aired after 9:30 p.m. due to its potentially disturbing nature.
While Sheldon Cooper would never, ever be caught in such unsanitary conditions, the lack of understanding of sarcasm and Parsons’ patented dry delivery is still there.
