“The Big Bang Theory” star Jim Parson fantasizes about playing a comic book role of the villainous persuasion — in particular, a Batman villain.
In an interview promoting his latest animated film “Home,” Parsons revealed there is a particular movie role he lusts after. “I would love to play a superhero in a movie,” Parsons tells MTV UK. “I would like to be a villain. I would really like to play The Riddler. I don’t feel they’re using the Riddler very much, are they?”
Parsons is correct that The Riddler is a Batman villain that has been flying under the radar these days. After all, he hasn’t been seen on film since Jim Carrey played The Riddler in 1995’s “Batman and Robin.”
The character has been immortalized on TV recently though. On FOX’s Batman prequel series “Gotham,” Cory Michael Smith plays the Batman villain during his pre-Riddler days when he was the smart and cunning, Edward Nygma.
With Warner Bros. bringing the DC universe to life on the big screen with forthcoming movies like “Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice,” “Justice League” and “Suicide Squad,” Parsons’ dream to play the Riddler could yet come true.
