whcd jimmy kimmel Jimmy Kimmel overshadowed by President Obama's jokes at the White House Correspondents DinnerJimmy Kimmel hosted the April 28th White House Correspondents Dinner, where he did his best to skewer both the media and Washington (in a loving way, of course) during his speech. But after examining his punchlines — and comparing them to President Obama‘s — unfortunately for the comedian, the POTUS wins.

While Obama took a crack at Congress members in the audience, saying, “I want to especially thank all the members who took a break from their exhausting schedule of not passing any laws to be here tonight,” Kimmel limited himself to innocuous things about Michelle Obama’s heath initiative. “They say diplomacy is a matter of carrot and sticks, and since Michelle Obama got to the White House — so is dinner,” Kimmel says.

Kimmel did joke about the Secret Service prostitution scandal, saying, “I do have a lot of jokes about the Secret Service. I told them for $800 I wouldn’t tell any. But they only offered $30.”

Obama, on the other hand, poked fun at his probable opponent Mitt Romney. “Recently, [Romney’s] campaign criticized me for slow-jamming the news with Jimmy Fallon. In fact, I understand Governor Romney was so incensed he asked his staff if he could get some equal time on ‘The Merv Griffin Show.'”

But wait, there’s more! The President also jokes of his and Romney’s Harvard degrees, “I have one, he has two. What a snob.”

Meanwhile, Kimmel had cute government quips like “Super-committees are to committees what Supercuts are to hair cuts” and fat jokes about New Jersey Governor Chris Christie. “I think you’re misunderstanding New Jersey’s slogan. It’s not the Olive Garden state.”
