kimmel slams leno Jimmy Kimmel slams Jay Leno yet again: 'He totally sold out'

Jimmy Kimmel does not like Jay Leno. If you’ve seen Kimmel’s previous interactions with his fellow late night talk show host, this news shouldn’t come as much of a surprise. In a new interview, Kimmel slams Leno yet again not even a month after his last diss, calling the comedian a sell out.

“As a comedian, you can’t not have disdain for what he’s done: He totally sold out,” Kimmel tells Rolling Stone, via The New York Daily News. “He was a master chef who opened a Burger King.”

There’s at least a compliment in there somewhere, which is kinder than what Kimmel said last time. During a recent conference call with reporters, he compared Leno to Jason Voorhees.

“Jay Leno is not going to be able to stay on television forever, and obviously Jimmy Fallon is the heir apparent,” Kimmel said. “And [Fallon is] doing a great job, so it makes sense people would talk like this. That said, you can never count Jay out. He seems to pop up just when you think he’s dead — he comes alive and he’s got a hatchet.”

Kimmel isn’t the only one taking jabs at Leno recently. In an interview with Oprah Winfrey, David Letterman also gave Leno a very backhanded compliment.

“He’s an unusual fellow. I’ve never met anyone quite like Jay,” Letterman said. “And I will say, and I’m happy to say, that I think he is the funniest guy I’ve ever known. Just flat out, if you go to see him do his nightclub act, just the funniest, the smartest, a wonderful observationist and very appealing as a comic. Therefore, the fact that he is also maybe the most insecure person I have ever known — I could never reconcile that.”
