Washington, prepare to get ripped.
Jimmy Kimmel has been tapped as the emcee of the 2012 White House Correspondents Association dinner, where journalists, politicians (including the president) and celebrities mingle and listen to a comedian make fun of them. Kimmel follows “Saturday Night Live’s” Seth Meyers, who did the honors earlier this year.
“I look forward to being a part of the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner,” Kimmel says in a statement. “I love dinner.”
We’re going to go ahead and predict that after the April 28 event, you’ll see some stories from the D.C. media sphere wondering if Kimmel went too far with his jokes (see Colbert, Stephen at the 2006 dinner). Kimmel is not known for pulling punches, so we’re figuring that feathers will get ruffled.
And frankly, that is OK with us. We’re looking forward to the YouTube videos in late April.
