Sorry to be the one to tell you this, “Harry Potter” fans, but J.K. Rowling’s lawyer has confirmed that her new project — Pottermore — is not a new book. Yes, we were pretty bummed, too. We were kind of hoping it was a prequel focusing on the Marauders. So what is Pottermore?
On Wednesday, June 15, Rowling launched a new website, obviously named Pottermore. The site doesn’t reveal much — just the words “Coming soon” followed by Rowling’s signature. There is also owls on the front page and one of them leads to a YouTube account with a countdown clock. What is it counting down to? An announcement from Rowling, which takes place in roughly six days.
The Leaky Cauldron, a “Harry Potter” fansite, has been given an advance preview of Pottermore and says it’s “one of the most amazing, engaging and breathtaking additions to this fandom imaginable. Even though this is not a new book… it is something equally exciting.”
Hm… as exciting as a new book? What could it be? Tell us your theory in the comments.
P.S. Less than one month until “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2” hits theaters. Are you ready?
