Joan Rivers does not appreciate Jennifer Lawrence‘s opinion on “Fashion Police.” The comedian and host took to Twitter on Tuesday (Nov. 12) to express her feelings after the “Catching Fire” star said the show “put values in all the things that are wrong.”

Lawrence’s comments came during an interview with Yahoo. When asked about fashion and criticism, the actress was dismissive. “Screw those people,” she said. “What are you gonna do, be hungry every single day to make other people happy? That’s just dumb.”

She went on to criticize media and television — calling out “Fashion Police” by name — based on judging the looks of others. “There’s shows like the ‘Fashion Police’ and things like that are just showing these generations of young people to judge people based on things,” Lawrence explained. “That they put values in all the things that are wrong and that it’s OK to point at people and call them ugly and call them fat and they call it ‘fun’ and ‘welcome to the real world.'”

When it comes to “Fashion Police,” however, Joan Rivers may be the only one allowed to make insults. In a series of three Twitter posts, the 80-year-old Rivers ripped apart Lawrence for her comments. Rivers both implied that Lawrence was hypocritical and said directly that the actress was arrogant.

The first tweet read as follows:

“It’s funny how Jennifer Lawrence loved @E_FashionPolice during Awards Season when we were complimenting her every single week…”

This was followed by:

“But now that she has a movie to promote, suddenly we’re picking on all those poor, helpless actors.”

And then:

“WAIT! It just dawned on me why Jennifer Lawrence fell on her way up to the stage to get her Oscar. She tripped over her own arrogance.”

There is a distinct possibility that Joan Rivers missed the point of Jennifer Lawrence’s anti-judgment sentiments. Or was Rivers just trying to be funny?
