A verdict has been reached in the murder trial of Jodi Arias. Arias is accused of murdering a Mormon church elder in 2008, after carrying on an affair with the man, Travis Alexander. Throughout the trial Arias has told different accounts of the night that ended with Alexander’s death. Initially she claimed to have nothing to do with the crime, before changing her story saying it was an act of self-defense.

Update: The jury found Arias guilty of first-degree murder. The judge informed the jury that the penalty phase for the trial will begin May 9. It will then be determined if Arias is eligible to be given the death penalty during sentencing.
