“Jockey would like to offer our support for Jon Hamm in the form of a lifetime supply of Jockey underwear,” a representative tells E! News.
Though it’s a pretty hilarious turn of events, Hamm likely won’t be too happy to hear about Jockey’s offer. He recently told people to “lay off” talking about his genitals during a recent interview with Rolling Stone.
“Most of it’s tongue-in-cheek, but it is a little rude. It just speaks to a broader freedom that people feel like they have — a prurience,” he says. “They’re called ‘privates’ for a reason. I’m wearing pants, for f**k’s sake. Lay off.”
Hamm continues, “I mean, it’s not like I’m a f**king lead miner. There are harder jobs in the world. But when people feel the freedom to create Tumblr accounts about my c**k, I feel like that wasn’t part of the deal. … But whatever, I guess it’s better than being called out for the opposite.”
Hamm’s whole penis drama began when The New York Post ran a story claiming AMC had to ask the lead actor to wear underwear because his 1960s-style wardrobe was revealing too much. The site also claimed that AMC had to Photoshop the outline of Hamm’s penis out of marketing material the network sent to press for Seasons 1 and 2.
