Both Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert have extended their contracts at the network, it was announced Tuesday, April 20.

That means Stewart will be back behind “The Daily Show” desk where he’s host, writer and executive producer. The extension goes through June 2013.

Colbert’s contract is keeping him with “The Colbert Report” through the end of 2012. He also host, writes and executive produces his program.

In other TV news:

  • Laurence Fishburne has also re-upped with CBS’ “CSI,” playing Dr. Raymond Langston through the 2010-2011 season, says The Hollywood Reporter. For the upcoming Season 10 finale, he’ll come up against two serial killers, played by Bill Irwin and Nate Haskell.
  • Ron Howard and Brian Grazer are producing “The Great Escape,” a reality show pilot that places contestants in movie-inspired sticky situations from which they must escape. The settings could be a prison, desert, island or any of number environments that pose problems.
  • Over on FOX, “Cops” has been renewed for a 23rd season.
