OK, so the "Jonas Brothers: The 3D Concert Experience" didn’t do quite as well as had been predicted.
But now Disney has come up with another way for the Jonas franchise to get into young girls’ pants, er, purses.
According to WWD, Disney Consumer Products is adding a clothing line — Jonas — for tweenage girls to the Jonas Brothers franchise.
The clothing line will be sold at Wal-Mart, Kmart, Sears and JC Penney and should arrive conveniently in time for back-to-school shopping, retailing for $9.99 to $24.99.
On “Jonas,” the boys play fictional New Jersey-based Kevin, Joe and Nick Lucas, a trio of teenage brothers who just happen to be the world’s most popular rock band.
Is it just us or are these guys trying too hard to be the Beatles? Or worse, the Monkees?
A major character on the show is the Lucases’ stylist-in-training, childhood friend Stella Malone, who not only keeps the brothers real but also helps them on the fashion front lines.
The Jonas tween apparel collection is inspired by the preppy clothing on the show: argyle sweater vests with the Horace Mantis Academy logo, woven tops, T-shirts, polo shirts with ruffles on the neck and sleeves, plaid belted shorts, leggings, denim skirts and jeans.
Well, what do you think? Will you (or your daughter) wear the Jonas Bros. clothing?
