Sometimes celebrities are awesome. Here is one of those times.
The New York Post recently wrote a story about 14-year-old Payton Wall, who lost her father in 9/11. She tweeted at Justin Bieber, “Hey! I have an awful life story and without your music I don’t know if I
could have survived. Do you think I could send you a
Bieber did not respond (we would imagine he doesn’t see every single Tweet sent his way), so Payton next wrote to President Obama (via the White House’s official website email program), who invited her to join him at Ground Zero for the ceremony after Osama bin Laden was killed.
NY Magazine is reporting that at the ceremony, President Obama also told Payton that he knows Justin Bieber and could arrange for them to meet. The NY Mag article frames this as “another promise [President Obama] won’t be able to keep.”
What did Justin Bieber have to say about that?
He tweeted at the NY Mag story, “I think you’re wrong. pretty sure President @BarackObama will keep this promise. #payitforward.”
We hope it happens for you, Payton. And good for you, Bieb.
