vanity fair justin bieber Justin Bieber's Vanity Fair cover bombsIt turns out the Vanity Fair-reading crowd isn’t so enamored of pop sensation/boy wonder Justin Bieber. The Bieb-covered February issue of the print magazine is reportedly the worst-selling issue in 12 years.

The magazine sold just 246,000 copies, according to WWD, which puts it ahead of (or behind) the previous worst seller — a 1999 cover featuring Will Smith atop a black stallion (he was promoting “Wild, Wild West”). According to the data, the only other issue that has dropped into the low 200,000 range is a 1993 issue featuring Harrison Ford.

And lest we consider this an isolated incident for the 17-year-old Canadian singer, WWD notes that his October 2010 Teen Vogue cover was also a dud, logging only 121,054 issues sold. Not to mention an April 2010 People mag cover that reportedly sold 25 percent less than the mag’s average.

So, what’s the deal? Is Bieber fever over or do are his tween fans just not big print magazine readers?
