The controversial performer dropped the news of the cover’s rejection in an October 17 tweet: “Banned in the USA!!! They don’t want me chilling on the couch with my phoenix!”
And he wouldn’t let up after that. The Twitter tirade continued throughout the day: “So Nirvana can have a naked human being on they cover but I can’t have
a PAINTING of a monster with no arms and a polka dot tail and wings.”
Maybe, maybe not. The Los Angeles Times reports that “banned” isn’t the most appropriate word to use. A source tells the paper West “was told if he wanted to do it, the
label would stand behind him.”
