Prince William and his bride, Kate Middleton, both appeared relaxed during a public appearance in the United Kingdom on Monday (Oct. 8) — the couple’s first since photos of the Duchess of Cambridge sunbathing topless (and bottomless) were published on the Internet and in a handful of European magazines.
During her visit with William to the Honourable Society of the Middle Temple, Middleton wore a burgundy skirt suit by French designer Paule Ka with a black lacy top. The couple used the occasion to announce a new set of scholarships for law students.
William and Kate’s calm demeanor Monday stands in stark contrast to media reports claiming the Duke and Duchess are stressed following the publication of nude photos of Middleton taken by a paparazzo while the couple was vacationing at a private French chateau.
The royal family won an injunction against the French magazine Closer, which initially published the photos; however, the legal win didn’t affect photos already circulated on the Internet or pictures published in other outlets.
