One high school senior in Los Angeles, Cal. is shooting for the stars when it comes to his prom date. Jake Davidson has started an online campaign to get Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue cover girl Kate Upton to accompany him to the big dance.
Davidson uploaded a video that runs just under two minutes, showing him getting ready for prom. While explaining why the two would be a good match, he shaves, works out, showers, gets dressed, and even has a butler fetching things for him. Davidson notes that he has a strict 11 p.m. curfew, so he can’t stay out all night with Kate, but believes they can still have fun.
The video ends with Davidson, and his butler, on top of a mountain with a bouquet of roses, officially asking Kate to prom. The video has already garnered over 20,000 views, and Davidson is using different social networking sites to get the word out. He has set up a Facebook profile for the cause, and it using his Twitter account to reach out to Kate directly, as well as people she may know. In a tweet to supermodel Bar Refaeli, he writes, “Could you please help a fellow Jew out and share this with @KateUpton and get her to come to prom!”
This isn’t the first time people have used the power of the internet to try to get famous dates for various events. In 2011, Justin Timberlake and Mila Kunis made headlines when they accepted invitations to attend two different Marine Corps Balls.
