katie-couric-leaving-ABC-news-yahoo.jpgIt sounds like journalist and TV host Katie Couric is working on a move from television to the internet, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Couric, whose deal at ABC includes her self-titled daily talk show and a role at ABC News, is reportedly negotiating an exit package as she finalizes a deal with Yahoo. She will complete her current season of “Katie” and then move to do an interview program with the internet company.

An ABC executive tells THR, “Katie
is an incredible journalist and this was an opportunity that she
couldn’t pass up. Thanks to the powerful association between ABC News
and Yahoo we know that Katie will continue to work closely with us and
welcome her on our air anytime.”

ABC News and Yahoo have had a partnership in sharing news content since 2011, so this move isn’t jumping ship completely. But sources say that in the Yahoo deal, Couric would be hosting an interview program that will be featured on the site’s home page.
