Do you find yourself missing a time when you could count on a new episode of “Dawson’s Creek” airing weekly, allowing you to live vicariously through exploits of Dawson, Joey, Pacey and Jen? You’re not the only one.
In an interview with Elle Canada, Katie Holmes — that’s Joey Potter to you — reveals she may have never quite gotten over the show. “I don’t know if I have moved past it, but I don’t really care,” she says.
It’s not like Holmes doesn’t have a good reason to be stuck on the series that made her a star — and America’s sweetheart. “I had a ball doing it, and it’s really nice to be a part of something that did affect people,” she says. “And it created a lot of opportunities for all of us. You can’t really ask for much more than that.”
Now, 11 years after the show ended, Holmes is more than content with where her life has led her. “I just do what I do and go home,” she says. “I have a balanced life. I like having different experiences, and I like being inspired.”
Looking back on her years since being cast for the series and the choices she’s made, there’s not much the actress would change. “I have a lot to be grateful for, so I do count my blessings every day,” Holmes adds. “I really do.”
