Kelly Rowland has been making waves since her revealing new jam called “Dirty Laundry,” wherein she talks about her jealousy of former bandmate Beyonce and an abusive relationship she was for a long time.
Now on “Katie,” airing Wednesday, June 26, Rowland opens up about the relationship in question. Watch a preview above.
“I think that the most beautiful part about writing about that is it was so cathartic. I got it out. I was ready to talk about it and once I did that, I felt 100 pounds lighter. It wasn’t for anybody else, I didn’t write the song for anybody else but myself,” Rowland tells Couric.
Below, Kelly also talks about friend Beyonce on “Watch What Happens Live,” saying the megastar is “a slob.”
“She would tell you this — she’s a slob. Like if you walk in [to her house] — maybe she’s gotten better since being a mother. She’s got a lot on her brain, you can tell there’s a lot going on,” laughs Rowland.
When asked why original Destiny’s Child members LaTavia Roberson and LeToya Luckett left the group, Rowland says host Andy Cohen will have to ask them, but then when asked if she agrees with the published reports of why they left — that manager Mathew Knowles was keeping a disproportionate amount of the group’s earnings — Rowland pleads the fifth.
