Of course, it was Martin’s Twitter that **started the “rumors” of the two dating in the first place, so how much can we trust this source?
The fake dating rumors popped up on the comedian’s social media page on Monday (Dec. 16), apparently in response to “legitimate” stories about whether or not the Kardashian sister is dating baseball player Matt Kemp. Appearing shortly after Kardashian filed for divorce from husband Lamar Odom, there was speculation about whether the Dodger was Khloe’s new man.
All sources indicate that the two are indeed just friends.
As for Martin and Kardashian, the entirety of both the rumor and its rebuttal can be found in a series of tweets sent via Twitter. The first message appeared out of nowhere:
“Despite rumors, Khloe Kardashian and I are ‘just friends.'”
A possible motive — notoriety and fame and all that — came through in the follow-up:
“Be sure to check out my new album, ‘Just Friends with Khloe Kardashian.'”
Martin next demonstrated a woeful ignorance of the concept of ‘shipper names:
“Now trying to downplay the Khloe/Steve thing with trusting wife.”
As proof of his “friends” status with Kardashian, Martin then offered irrefutable-ish proof:
“Khloe just called asking what printer to buy. Further proof that we are ‘just friends.'”
Finally, the fact that Martin is married played a factor in the whole mock-scandal:
“Uh oh. Trusting wife online buying replacement cartridges for the same printer I recommended to Khloe”
Thus ends what may be the most interesting Kardashian scandal in ages.
