When Katy Perry arrived on stage — via a zip line — at Saturday’s (March 31) Kids’ Choice Awards, she came prepared for battle. Brandishing a sword and shield.
We’re not sure what the whole Medieval theme was about, but it worked for Perry who sang her newest single, “Part of Me.” (The one we all thought was about ex Russell Brand, but she says not.) In the middle of the song, Perry again hoisted her gigantic shield which had a glowing heart in its center. So symbolic.
Then, to lighten the mood, Perry wrapped things up by smashing a pie in the face of one of her dancers.
As soon as she was done, host Will Smith congratulated her for her KCA win for Favorite Voice From an Animated Movie.
