Kim Delaney, star of the Lifetime show “Army Wives,” was tossed off stage Thursday (Sept. 22) during an incoherent speech honoring former defense secretary Robert Gates.
During Liberty Medal Award presentation at Philadelphia’s National Constitution Center, Delaney spoke of serving “in active military duty family for five years…I’ve seen soldiers come home with painful life altering injuries borne of their time and service.” She adds, “I’ve attended numerous military funerals, including that of my best friend’s son.”
Of course the problem here is that this all occurred on her TV show, not in real life.
The video shows a seemingly off-kilter Delaney wandering through the presentation. CBS’s Philadelphia affiliate reported the teleprompter broke forcing Delaney had to play it by ear.
The 49-year-old actress was arrested in 2002 on suspicion of drunk driving after she declined a breathalyzer test. She’s had two stints in rehab, once in 2003 and 2006.
