kim fields 2013 holiday love the rebirth Kim Fields' 'Holiday Love: The Rebirth': 'God blesses us with the musicality to move the spirit'Kim Fields is bringing her fourth “Holiday Love” special to life this Christmas season, but this year there’s a new twist.

A money-hungry reality TV producer starts recruiting pregnant women to take part in his show with the hopes that one of them gives birth on Christmas and their baby can be the real-life baby Jesus on the show.

Fields tells Zap2it that the idea for the special came to her and husband Christopher L. Morgan when they revealed her second pregnancy.

“It was when we did the announcement on ‘The Real’ over the summer. … Once we
realized the response we were getting and the outpouring of love and
support, we were like, ‘OK, what if we finish it out by doing ‘Holiday
Love’ as the final shebang.'” says Fields. “My husband said, ‘What if you had this horrible nightmare that you were directing a
wretched reality special called ‘Lifestyles of the Pregnant and
Fabulous’? That was kind of the jump off for the storyline.”

But she adds that the special is still a worship piece, celebrating the birth of Jesus.

“This year centers around birth, the center of it of course being the birth of Christ and celebrating the Nativity,” says Fields. “It’s not just great signing, but it really does usher in the spirit of
praise or worship or thanksgiving.

“We really wanted to make sure that
that’s always a part of the show every year, not just people that can do
vocal acrobatics. The riffs and runs and tricks are great, but if
you’re not moving someone’s spirit, then all of that is for nothing. We
feel like every year, God blesses us with the musicality to move the

She adds, “It’s one of those where God just continues to amaze you with everybody that says yes.”

Fields is not kidding. The lineup for the special reads like a who’s-who of gospel music:

“What Child is This?” — Tamela Mann
“A Mother’s Love” — Karen Clark Sheard & Cindy Ratcliff
“Angels We Have Heard on High” — Pentatonix

“O Come Emmanuel” — Jamie Grace & Phil King
“This Christmas” — Lalah Hathaway
