There are two secrets to balancing a champagne glass on your butt like Kim Kardashian did in her now-infamous Paper magazine photo shoot: One, have a big butt. Two, be willing to contort your body into some extremely uncomfortable positions.
While on a promotional tour for her new fragrance Down Under, Kardashian visited an Australian morning show and discussed the photo shoot with Jean-Paul Goude. “I was so honored and excited to work with him because he is a legend. For me, that is something I wanted to do to make myself feel confident,” she says.
The reality star viewed the shoot as an “art project,” and it was a difficult one to complete. “My back hurt for about a week after that shoot,” she says. “[Goude] has an art of posing you, and it was definitely not comfortable and things were falling all over the place.”
Anchor Rove McManus takes that opportunity to ask Kardashian for tips on how to balance a champagne glass on his backside, but his attempt proves unsuccessful. (Check out the act around 1:30 in the video below.) “It’s going to break because you don’t have as big a butt as I do,” Kardashian tells him, adding, “You have to bend over more!”
Watch the attempt below. You should probably not try it at home, unless you have a surplus of champagne glasses lying around that you don’t mind breaking. Kardashian might not quite have broken the Internet, but there were definitely some glassware casualties on set that day.
