kardashian quicktrim qt Kim Kardashian, Kourtney and Khloe named in $5 million class action lawsuitReality star Kim Kardashian and her sisters Kourtney and Khloe are in hot water as the three were named in a $5 million class action suit against QuickTrim diet pills.

In the filing dated March 1, the Kardashians, along with QuickTrim and a number of drug store chains, are being sued for shilling a product that apparently doesn’t do what it claims. The lawsuit says Kim, Kourtney and Khloe made “numerous unsubstantiated, false and misleading claims concerning the product’s efficacy and mechanism of action.” Or put more simply, it wasn’t the “optimum calorie burning” solution they promised.

The case, which was brought by Bursor & Fisher, adds that the Kardashian-endorsed product is essentially a giant caffeine pill. And, according to the filing, the FDA has found such methods are “not a safe or effective treatment for weight control.”

The Kardashians have been advertising for this product since 2009. This partnership has helped sales reach upwards of $45 million.

This is not the first time Kim has faced legal problems over one of her business dealings. In 2011 she was sued for making false and misleading statements about a hair-removal product.
