As of late, Kirstie Alley has been in the news for, as she puts it, her “new claim to fame”: Losing weight.
The “Cheers” alum and former “Kirstie” actress recently stepped out in public in January revealing quite a slim figure. The key to her weight-loss success? Well, besides utilizing the Jenny Craig program (of which she’s a spokesperson), she’s apparently tapped into the mind of an 8-year-old to help her drop the pounds.
“I started riding my townie bicycle,” Alley tells Zap2it. “And I decided to think like an 8-year-old because that is when I really liked life in a physical sense.”
“I’ve been spending a lot of time in small-town Florida, and I jump on my bike and I ride to this [friend’s] house, and that [friend’s] house, and I ride to the grocery store,” continues Alley. “[I’m] always in motion and it’s keeping me very happy … it’s just making my life a lot better.”
In addition to channeling the active lifestyle of an eight year old, Alley also reveals that she has a habit of bribing her friends with a free lunch or dinner if they’ll ride their bikes with her to a restaurant.
“I ride my bike over to all of my friends’ houses [and] I bribe people to ride with me,” says Alley. “It really became a unification factor with my friends. Now we’re like a big group and we’ll all ride — you know, with the kids, with everybody — to dinner, and it’s just so fun and easy.”
