About 70 members of a group called Biblemode Youth Philippines staged a rally outside Pasay City Hall near Manila Friday (May 18), the AP reports. They say they take particular umbrage at Gaga’s song “Judas,” which they say mocks Jesus.

Lady Gaga has permits for two shows Monday and Tuesday at a 20,000-seat arena, but Pasay City’s mayor says she has to keep it clean.

“Although we respect artistic and musical expressions, I won’t allow anyone or any group to provide acts which may be questionable in a way at any venue under my jurisdiction,” Mayor Antonino Calixto says in a statement. “We reminded the producers of Lady Gaga’s concert that the show and the event as a whole shall not exhibit any nudity or lewd conduct which may be offensive to morals and good customs.”

Gaga has faced protests at several shows on the Asian leg of her “Born This Way” tour. No one under 18 was allowed in at concerts in Seoul, the AP says, and she was denied a permit in Indonesia.

Philippine law says people can be prosecuted for offending race or religion, but it hasn’t resulted in any convictions of late.
