We have to admit, when we heard that Lady Gaga‘s infamous meat dress was still around, the first thing we thought about was how it must smell. (Actually, that’s all we could think of while she was actually wearing it at the VMAs, too.)
The dress is on display at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame… but don’t worry, it’s not rotting in there. After Gaga wore it, the creation (made of Argentinian beef) was kept in a cold meat locker before it was treated with special chemicals and then dried out by taxidermists.
Unfortunately, all that drying-out made the dress look like beef jerky, which is just not fashionable these days, so it was painted by artists so it would better resemble its juicy former self. The whole process took months to complete, according to the AP.
The dress is being displayed in the “Women Who Rock: Vision, Passion, Power” exhibit, which runs until February 2012. Will you make the trip to Cleveland to check out the beef up close and in person?
