lance armstrong admission report gi Lance Armstrong admission forthcoming? Not if his attorney has a sayLance Armstrong is considering confessing publicly to using performance-enhancing drugs. That’s the report of the New York Daily News, which cites anonymous sources. The paper says the cyclist’s motive is a hopefulness that officials will reverse their strict lifetime ban if he’s willing to come clean.

But the Associated Press tells a different story after talking to Armstrong’s attorney Tim Herman, who claims to be unaware of any plan for a confession. “When, and if, Lance has something to say, there won’t be any secret about it,” says Herman.

Armstrong was stripped of his seven Tour de France titles in 2012, and dropped by corporate sponsors, after new evidence pointed to illegal drug use by the athlete — evidence that was corroborated by Lance’s teammates. He also stepped down from his post at the Livestrong Foundation, a charity founded in response to Armstrong’s battle with testicular cancer.

Armstrong currently faces a myriad of legal battles in relation to the doping claims.
