lance armstrong admission report gi Lance Armstrong apologizes to Livestrong before Oprah Winfrey interviewPrior to being interviewed by Oprah Winfrey, Lance Armstrong took time to address the staff of his Livestrong Foundation. The organization, which helps support those suffering from cancer, has been heavily criticized over the last year due to the cyclist’s heavily publicized downfall.
Armstrong called a staff meeting Monday to apologize, however he didn’t address whether or not he used banned substances during his cycling career.

Armstrong reportedly apologized to the staff for letting them down and putting the foundation at risk before saying he would try to restore its reputation. The Director of Communications for Livestrong, Rae Bazzarre, confirmed to CNN that a tearful Armstrong apologized to staff for the stress he’s put them under.

Armstrong was stripped of his 7 Tour de France titles in 2012 after he dropped his fight against the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency. USADA chief executive Travis Tygart claims the cyclist was part of, “The most sophisticated, professionalized and successful doping program that sport has ever seen.”

It’s been rumored Armstrong is planning a public confession, and some have said that will come via “Oprah’s Next Chapter.”
