most disliked athletes lance armstrong Lance Armstrong tops Most Disliked Athletes list, is sued for $12 million

It has not been a good year for Lance Armstrong. In addition to admitting his doping history to Oprah Winfrey, Armstrong has now been sued for $12 million and tops Forbes’ list of the Most Disliked Athletes.

Armstrong is joined by Manti Te’o by being disliked by 85 percent of the United States, a Nielsen/E-Poll shows. “The Oprah interview hurt [Armstrong], he came off as pompous, arrogant and unapologetic,” Stephen Master, senior vice president of sports at Nielsen, tells Forbes.

As for that lawsuit, SCA Promotions has leveled some heavy charges against Armstrong. The Dallas promotions company is demanding he repay the $12 million in fees and bonuses he received for winning the Tour de France, the Associated Press reports.

“It is time now for Mr. Armstrong to face the consequences of his actions,” the lawsuit says. “He admits he doped; he admits he bullied people; he admits he lied.” The suit seeks $9.5 million in bonus money and $2.5 million in fees and other costs.
