larry hagman gi Larry Hagman's 'Dallas' auction nets more than $500,000Larry Hagman, the man who played ultimate TV villian J.R. Ewing on “Dallas” from 1978 – 1991, made over $500,000 at a Saturday (June 4) auction of memorabilia from his “Dallas” years.

Hagman himself turned up for the auction, encouraging the assembled collectors to “bid high and bid often.”

And they did. A sterling silver parade saddle Hagman used earlier in the week when he rode down Hollywood’s Wilshire Blvd. with former co-star Linda Gray fetched $80,000.

Nearly 400 items were up for sale, including a handmade pair of cowboy boots marked with the initials “J.R.”, “Dallas” scripts and trading cards. But not everything was “Dallas”-related. Hagman also auctioned off what looked to be a robust collection of hats, capes and other traditional costumes from around the world, furniture and art. An intricately embroidered matador’s cape was priced at $1,000 – $2,000 while a Scotsman’s kilt with regalia and daggers was a bargain at $400 – $600.

Also included, a large bale of shredded U.S. currency and several prints by Hagman’s daughter, Kristina. Not to be missed: Kristina’s interpretation of a nude circus juggler.

Hagman, Gray and Patrick Duffy have all reportedly signed on to reprise their roles in a new “Dallas” series. Details
