lauryn hill oitnb prison gi Lauryn Hill released early from 'Orange Is the New Black' prison

Former Fugees singer Lauryn Hill was released a few days early from federal prison, in part for good behavior, according to her attorney.
Hill was locked up on July 8 after being sentenced for failing to pay income taxes from 2005 to 2007. Hill reportedly earned around $1.5 million during that period.
According to TMZ, Hill was serving time in the same minimum security facility where Netflix’s “Orange Is the New Black” takes place. She will now be on lockdown at home for three months, which begins her one-year probation.
On the eve of her release, Hill dropped a new track called “Comsumerism.” She says via Tumblr the mix was done during her time behind bars. “Consumerism is part of some material I was trying to finish before I had to come in,” she writes. “We did our best to eek out a mix via verbal and emailed direction, thanks to the crew of surrogate ears on the other side.”
