Neal Baer, the long-time showrunner of “Law & Order: SVU,” will leave the show at the end of the season for a new three-year deal at CBS Studios. Baer previously worked on “ER,” where he developed a relationship with CBS Studios boss David Stapf and network head Nina Tassler, who were Warner Bros. TV execs at the time. [Variety]

Andie MacDowell has taken a lead role in ABC Family’s pilot “What Would Jane Do,” about a 16-year-old (Erica Dasher) who starts working for a fashion house when people there mistake her for an adult. MacDowell will play her “hard-nosed” boss. [EW]

Also at ABC Family, Meagen Fay (“Malcolm in the Middle”) has joined the cast of Raven-Symone’s pilot “The Great State of Georgia.” TNT, meanwhile, has added Rhea Seehorn, Blake Clark, Bradford Anderson and Brett Rice to its cop-show pilot that stars Steven Weber and D.L. Hughley. [Deadline]

Season 3 of “Southland” will feature a new partner for Regina King‘s Lydia in the form of Jenny Gago. Her character, Josie Ochoa, is a veteran detective who will help Lydia see cases in a different way. [TV Guide]
