Put this one in the “rumors” bin for now, but a report is out claiming that Lea Michele and the cast of “Glee” will make their first appearance since the death of Cory Monteith at the 2013 Teen Choice Awards.
“Right now Lea is planning to attend the Teen Choice Awards next week with the entire [‘Glee’] cast,” a source tells Hollywood Life. “Ryan Murphy has given her total control on all the decisions for ‘Glee,’ even the promotional stuff. It was Lea’s choice that they skip the FOX summer party last week — it was just too soon for her — but she feels like she wants to do the Teen Choice Awards because it has a lot of personal meaning for her — but also for the fans.”
It would make sense that the “Glee” cast make a public appearance at a ceremony where the audience is largely teens who could be affected by Monteith’s death, but again, this news is far from officially confirmed.
Michele has been gradually becoming more of a presence on Twitter in recent days as “Glee” films Season 5. She posted her first picture as Rachel Berry in Season 5, and says she recorded a “beautiful and perfect” song for the show. Monteith passed away on July 13.
