It all started when Leighton accused mom of misusing a monthly check of $7,500 that was meant to help with her brother’s medical expenses. According to Leighton’s original suit, she accused mom of using the funds for her own plastic surgery, hair extensions and Botox. Mom then conuter-sued, claiming she’d “sacrificed her happiness” to further Leighton’s career and asking for $3 million in damages.
The Hollywood Reporter filed a detailed account of the legal wrangling, which also involves a “loan-out” company and Constance’s contention that she was Leighton’s manager (or “momager”).
In November, Constance’s attorney’s told the court she no longer wanted to defend herself against her daughter’s claims and she withdrew her own contention that she’d sacrificed her happiness, yada, yada. The bottom line: The judge declared no contractual relationship exists between the two Meesters and Mama Meester will have no legal right to any of her daughter’s “Gossip Girl” profits.
