“Girls” creator-star and soon-to-be “Saturday Night Live” host Lena Dunham sat for an interview with “Today” host Savannah Guthrie this week, where she discussed her long-time love for “SNL.” And, it turns out, Guthrie is similarly devoted to “Girls.”

“I love it with a passion,” Dunham says in the interview in the “SNL” studio at Rockefeller Center. “‘Obsessed’ is not too strong of a word, and being here in this space is surreal and wonderful, and I just am so excited to soak up every inch of it. I was literally, like, staring at the hair stylists as they constructed wigs today, saying, ‘I want to learn your secrets.'”

Dunham also says she was honored by an “SNL” parody of “Girls” from earlier in the season, calling it “one of the best things that ever happened to me.”

Toward the end of the segment, Guthrie outs herself as a “Girls” superfan — going so far as to create storyboards where she’s the fifth member of the group, helping Hannah study for her LSATs or watering Jessa’s plants while she’s in rehab.

“I love it! Beautifully done, Savannah,” Dunham says. “I’ll take it back to the writers’ room, and we’ll give it serious consideration.”

“That feels like a blow-off,” Guthrie jokes.

Dunham: “It’s not a blow-off. Just honestly, I’m not sure whether you’re willing to show nipple.”

Guthrie: “You know what? Spoiler alert, I’m not.”

Dunham hosts “SNL” on Saturday (March 8), with musical guest The National. Probably don’t look for Guthrie on Season 4 of “Girls.”
