Lindsay Lohan and her new BDF (Best Designer Friend) Karl Lagerfeld were the first presenters at the Council of Fashion Designers of America Awards, handing the Accessory Designer of the Year award to Tom Binns.
“Always appreciate the little things in life because they make a big impression,” La Lohan, intoned without the slightest trace of irony.
"Entourage" star Jeremy Piven hosted last night’s CFDA Awards – basically the Oscars of the Fashion Industry – held at the New York Public Library.
What, you may ask, qualifies the Emmy-nominated actor who plays "Entourage’s" egotistical agent to be a fashion awards host?
Well, he gets given lots of free designer clothes these days and spends his days getting facials and treatments at the M Aesthetic Spa on Sunset Boulevard. “He lives there,” said one spa worker.
So there’s that.
“He’s just one haircut away from landing the lead in “The Tom Ford Story,” quipped one succinct style industry observer.
Also in the haute house: Harvey Weinstein, looking very happy sandwiched between the two gorgeous Marchessa designers (yup, he’s still dating the brunette babe).
Vogue editor Anna Wintour (inspiration for the nasty fashion editor in “The Devil Wears Prada”), Scarlett Johansson – sporting dark hair for her lead role in “The Nanny Diaries” – Chloe Sevigny, Janet Jackson, Sandra Oh, Alicia Keys, Jessica Simpson…and oh yeah, scads of designers.
Jessica Lange presented an award to renowned fashion photographer Bruce Weber, praising his humanity and warmth that is such a part of his process. “He’s a magician,” she purred.
And he’s also the only man in the fashion world who’s worn a napkin on his head for the past 25 years. Bravo!

Photo Credits: Jeremy Piven is clearly going for the Tom Ford look at the CFDA Aawrds. Not that that’s a bad thing.
