There was a meeting Wednesday (Feb. 27) to supposedly strike a plea deal in Lindsay Lohan‘s lying-to-the-cops case after her car accident last summer. Prosecutors were reportedly willing to offer her community service and keep her out of jail. But TMZ is reporting the deal fell through, at least for now.
Santa Monica and Los Angeles city prosecutors had a meeting via telephone with Lilo’s lawyer Mark Heller, where they insisted that Lohan service time in a residential rehab facility as part of her sentence, but Heller said no, even when the time when down from 60 days to 30 days.
One source tells TMZ the “negotiations are ongoing.”
However, TMZ’s sources say that while Heller is willing to accept a plea deal that involves counseling and some sort of rehab, Lindsay sees that as “punishment for something [she] didn’t do” and isn’t willing to accept it.
TMZ is also told the prosecutors are more than willing to go to trial on March 18.
What do you think? Should Lindsay just take what’s on the table and not risk the chance a judge sends her back to jail?
