lindsay lohan jail getty Lindsay Lohan serves 5 hours in jail due to overcrowdingLindsay Lohan, who was sentenced to 270 days in jail last Wednesday (Nov. 2) for violating her probation, has served about five hours of her sentence due to jail overcrowding, reports the AP.

Lohan was booked at 8:50 p.m. local time Sunday at the Century Regional Detention facility in Lynwood, CA. News crews staking out the jail say she left around 1:40 a.m. and was back in her Venice home by 2 a.m.

The conditions of Lohan’s latest sentence are a bit complicated. She was sentenced to 270 days in jail, but the judge said she had to serve 30 days and was required to turn herself in by Nov. 9.

Following that (which is the five hours she served Sunday night), Lohan has until Dec. 14 to complete 12 days of work at the morgue and four psychotherapy sessions. Then she’ll have until Jan. 17 to complete 12 more days of work at the morgue and another four sessions. After that, another 12 and four before Feb. 15. Then another 17 morgue days and six sessions by her court appearance on March 29.

If at any time she violates her probation or doesn’t show up for her scheduled work or sessions between now and March 29, she will have to serve the entire remaining portion of the 270 days in jail.

Of course, if jail overcrowding is so bad that she only served five hours of her 30-day sentence, we aren’t really sure what “270 days” will mean – roughly 45 hours, if the math holds?

This was Lohan’s fifth jail sentence since being arrested twice for drunk driving in 2007. In 2007, Lohan spent 84 minutes in jail before being released and in the past she has served roughly six days in jail for another sentence, which was about 20% of the overall sentence. This time around, she was expected to serve about six days again, but it turned out to be less than five hours.

Lohan has been working already in the morgue for almost two weeks, mopping floors, cleaning bathrooms and washing dirty linens.
