Olympic gold-medal winning skier Lindsey Vonn stopped by “Today” on Monday (Oct. 28), where she talks about competing in the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia following her horrific crash at the world championships back in February, plus her relationship with golfer Tiger Woods.

“I work hard, that’s what I do. I fall, I get back up, I fall, I get back up. … Obviously, this is the biggest setback I’ve ever had but I’m skiing really well. I’ve only been on snow a few days, but I’m already almost right back where I was, so things are looking up,” says Vonn. “My knee feels great. Literally, I can’t tell which one was injured.”

“I don’t want [that crash] to be the final moment of my career. I could have retired. I have a lot to be proud of, but there’s a lot more that I want to do. Sochi is a huge goal of mine,” adds Vonn.

When talk turns to Woods, Vonn says that he has helped her immensely in her comeback, teaching her patience in particular.

“I’m not a very patient person,” says Vonn. “He is very patient. He’s very mentally tough and he’s a grinder, he works extremely hard. He’s obviously also had an ACL injury as well, he had the same surgery, so he knew what I was going through. He just said to be patient and work hard.”

Look for Vonn to be hitting the slopes for the Winter Olympics in a few months — she says of the medal stand in Sochi, “You better believe it.”
