It may be the worst-kept secret in music history, but it’s officially out now. Rihanna and Chris Brown have reunited for the remix of her sexually explicit song “Birthday Cake,” which was released on Feb 20, her 24th birthday.
Just days after the three-year-anniversary of Brown’s violent attack on Rihanna, which — in case you’ve forgotten — included gruesome bites, punches, and blows that left Rihanna bruised and battered (and the inside of Brown’s car sprayed with blood) — her fans can listen to their single.
“Girl I wanna f*** you right now. Been a long time, I’ve been missing
your body. Let me turn the lights down, when I go down it’s a private
party. Ooh, it’s not even her birthday but I wanna lick the icing off.
Give it to her in the worst way. Can’t wait to blow her candles out,” Brown sings on the track.
Later, Rihanna reminisces about their past as she responds, “Remember how you did it? If you still wanna kiss it, then come and get it.”
Brown and Rihanna have attempted to keep any communication until now under wraps, but on Monday, they were finally free to tweet their good wishes. “HAPPY BIRTHDAY ROBYN!” Brown wrote, and Rihanna retweeted him and responded with a joyful “Thanks!” The two celebrated the reunion of their fans — Team Breezy and the Rihanna Navy — throughout the day.
