brad pitt world war z Live weapons seized from set of Brad Pitt's 'World War Z'

The prop master on the set of “World War Z‘” has A LOT of explaining to do.

Hungarian police raided the set of the upcoming Brad Pitt zombie apocalypse movie and seized 85 weapons from a warehouse; the stash reportedly included AK-47s and sniper rifles, which police confirmed were equipped with live ammunition. According to PEOPLE, Hungarian authorities claim the weapons were “not fully inoperable as they were supposed to be…[it was] a disaster waiting to happen.”

Hajdu Janos and Zsolt Bodnar, members of Hungary’s Anti-Terrorism Unit, reported that “a private plane brought guns wrapped in a parcel from a company to an individual [in Budapest]. Guns like these are highly illegal to transport even if they were to be used as stage guns, which hopefully they weren’t.”

A publicist for the film has said that the studio is “working with the authorities to resolve this matter and have no further comment at this time.” The thought of filming an epic battle scene with an entire arsenal of mistakenly live weapons is chilling. Good save, Hungary.
