Lookin at Lucky won the Preakness Saturday (May 15).
Lucky for Lookin at Lucky — but not so much for Super Saver, who’s bid to become the first Triple Crown winner in 32 years has ended.
The sport will have to wait one more year for a chance to see its first Triple Crown winner since Affirmed in 1978.
Lookin At Lucky sprinted past First Dude in the final turn to win by three-quarters of a length.
Coming in third was Jackson Bend, followed by Yawanna Twist.
Lookin At Lucky was actually favored in the Kentucky Derby, but finished sixth on a sloppy track.
Derby winner Super Saver finished eighth in today’s race — which makes the second time in eight career races that he did not finish in the money.
