lost poster 'Lost': Cuse says no State of the Union conflict for premiere“Lost” fans can rest easy — the State of the Union conflict is no more.

“Lost” executive producer Carlton Cuse tweeted Friday (Jan. 8) afternoon, “No State of the Union conflict with LOST! We go Feb. 2!”

The premiere date for “Lost” was announced back on Nov. 19 but recent rumors have been swirling about when President Obama would make his annual State of the Union address, a speech for which networks will preempt primetime programming.

The debate has been whether the speech would broadcast Jan. 26 or Feb. 2. Since it’s highly unlikely the White House would push the speech back to Feb. 9, it’s looking like premiere of the final season of “Lost” is in the clear.

“American Idol,” “NCIS,” “The Good Wife” and ‘the forgotten”… not so much. Though FOX may decide to go with “Idol” over Obama — wouldn’t be the first time.
