Arya Stark didn’t have a chance to appropriately respond to the deaths of her brother Robb and mother Catelyn in the “Game of Thrones” episode “The Rains of Castamere,” but the girl who plays her certainly did. Actress and bonafide Internet sensation Maisie Williams took to Vine to record her reaction to the traumatic Red Wedding, and fortunately found a way to bring some humor into a very, very sad night for “Game of Thrones” fans.
“They dead. Like so dead. Like O-M-G dead. My mother and brother are dead,” Williams says in the above Vine, inexplicably donning her version of a Southern accent. Watch it on repeat for a few times, and you won’t be able to help but laugh.
Lena Headey, who plays Cersei Lannister, posted her own reaction to Twitter. It wasn’t funny like Williams’, but was equally heartfelt.
“I cried,” she tweets. “Michelle Fairley is one of my favorite actors to watch. She is so present . That howl for her son ripped through […] my heart. On a personal level I shall miss my pal. … Awards should be heaped on Mrs F..”
Oona Chaplin, whose character Talisa met a grisly end in this episode, tweets of fan responses to the Red Wedding, “Thank you guys for the lovely comments about #GoT, really means a lot. Big love. #gameofthrones #epic.”
On a less somber note, “Game of Thrones'” Rickon Stark (real name Art Parkinson) took to Twitter to talk to fans about Rickon and Osha’s departure scene.
“Thanks so much for everything your saying about me in this weeks episode ,wish I could see it tonight . It means a lot that I did a good job,” he tweets. “Thank you everybody my twitter has gone crazy! Your all really kind ! Thank you X”
