mandymoore Mandy Moore to relive newlywed days in ABC comedy pilotMandy Moore has a four-for-four record of being awesome in guest-starring TV roles, so it makes sense that the adorable singer-turned-actress has gone and booked herself the lead role in a new ABC pilot.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Moore will co-star in “Us and Them,” a comedy about “the inherent conflict that exists between the families you grow up in and the ones we make as adults.” The 27-year-old will play Annie, a newlywed, and the show will be told from the perspective of Annie and her as-yet-uncast husband, Ben.
Writer Bob Fisher will co-executive produce alongside director Shawn Levy (“Night at the Museum”), Marty Adelstein and Becky Clements (21 Laps/Adelstein), while Jon Leshay, who has worked with Moore as music supervisor on movies like “Saved,” “How to Deal” and “A Walk to Remember,” will produce.
Moore was last seen on the small screen as a Seattle Grace patient in four episodes of ABC’s “Grey’s Anatomy,” where her character memorably helped Bailey save the life of a surgeon who was shot when a crazed gunman raided the hospital. On the comedy side, she (awesomely) starred as Ted’s bad-influence fling on “How I Met Your Mother,” J.D.’s commitment-phobic girlfriend on “Scrubs,” and a fictionalized version of herself on “Entourage.”

Moore is no stranger to newlywed life. The actress, who’s been married to rocker Ryan Adams for more than two years, has played brides in films like “Love, Wedding, Marriage,” alongside “Twilight” hottie Kellan Lutz, and “License to Wed,” alongside “The Office” star John Krasinski.
